DR Singles Championships - Saturday, October 26, 2013



On Saturday, October 26 the DR DGC Singles League Championships were held. It was an extension of the current Saturday Handicap Singles League, but for the Championships, both Handicap and Scratch scores were paid out after two-rounds of golf (as opposed to the normal one round).



Two rounds of golf were played and the results below reflect the people who got paid out for finishing tops with either their handicap score or their scratch score. A golfer could only cash in one or the other.

Twenty-five golfers were out Saturday for the Championships. Apologies that all golfers aren't aren't listed (full results weren't provided...only the names of those who got $$).  18 of the 25 golfers cashed.

Saturday will be the Singles tournament (two rounds), and Sunday will be the handicap random draw Doubles tournament (also two rounds).  Each day has its own entry fee and payout so you can play one day or play both days, it's entirely up to you.

2013 DR DCG Club Championships - Oct 26 & 27, 2013

The weekend of October 26 & 27 will be the Club Championship. To qualify you MUST have a handicap on record at DR Disc Golf in Orrington. Both Saturday and Sunday start time will be 10am  and there will be two rounds. Entry fee for EACH day is $10 + $2 optional ace pot ($20 or $24 with ace pot for both days). Greens fees are separate, but would be an additional $10 each day. You must Pre-Register at the course! Detailed info is below.

-Payouts will be for both SCRATCH and HANDICAP results

-You can can cash in only one of the above

-DR Disc Golf will match the entry fees (For example: if 30 people enter that would be $300; DR will kick in another $300 making it $600 in payouts)

-Ace pot will include whatever is in the Saturday Singles League ace pot plus whatever is collected on the day of the tournament (Note: as this is part of the Sunday Doubles League, if no ace is hit, the money will stay in the Sunday League ace pot; there will be no throw-off for ace pot money if nobody hits an ace)

Sunday, October 27 – DOUBLES

-Random doubles groups will be drawn on day of event; you will not be bringing your own partner

-Handicaps will be averaged; in the case where there is a greater-than 10 difference between A player and B player, the handicap will be a 10 for the B Player

-DR Disc Golf will match the entry fees

-Ace pot will include whatever is in the Sunday Singles League ace pot plus whatever is collected on the day of the tournament (Note: as this is part of the Sunday Doubles League, if no ace is hit, the money will stay in the Sunday League ace pot; there will be no throw-off for ace pot money if nobody hits an ace)

Saturday Singles League – August 31, 2013

The new course layout made its debut for the first time for the Saturday Singles League, having made its official debut last Monday. Looks like the locals have some re-learning to do when it comes to their home course.

Course par is 72 (Pro par is 54 which is the number that the handicaps are based on).

Results below (scratch score - handicap = league score)

1^st  Gabe Bennett: 63 - 7 = 56

2^nd  Tom Collins: 61 - 2 = 59

4^th  Joe the Mason: 66 – 5 = 61

5^th Vasbert Thompson: 78 – 16 = 62
6^th Tye Cobb: 71 - 6 = 65

The current ace pot is capped at $250 and there is a carry-over ace pot that’s at about $71 and continues to build. No aces were hit this week so next week for Singles League the guaranteed $250 ace pot is still available. (Note: if more than one person hits an ace they split the $250. The carry-over ace pot does not come into play until the following Saturday after the current capped one is hit by one person or split by two or more.)

Saturday Singles Handicap League starts at 10am so you will need to be at the course and registered no later than 9:55am.

$5 + $1 ace (optional) = $6. Greens fees are separate at $5/round or $10/all day.
