It's Official....
Sunday, March 6, 2011
Hello Golfers! Welcome to 2011!
Dave expects to have the course open for the season by April 1. He’ll be keeping an eye on the weather and the snow-melt at the course, so check back here for updates.
Help me, I'm meltingggggg!
A change for the course this year will be a slight rise in the greens fees. Starting when the clubhouse opens, it will be $5 (up from $4) for a single round, and $10 (up from $8) for all day play. Those who want to pay for a 12-month membership (which goes for the twelve month period from when you pay; i.e. if you pay on April 1, 2011, your membership is good until March 31, 2012. The membership covers all of your greens fees for that twelve month period and is good at both Orrington and Caribou.
There will be concrete tee pads in place for holes #13 and #14. Only hole #5 won’t have a tee pad, but that hole won’t be around much longer so there’s no sense putting in a concrete tee pad.

The schedule for the Maine Players Tour is available at the Maine Disc Golfers website. The season opens on Saturday, April 16 at Burnsboro DGC in Vassalboro and ends on Sunday, September 25th in West Gardiner at Grassyland DGC. There are 20 events on the schedule for the 2011 season. To get an invite to the end of the season championships, which will be split between the Burnsboro DGC and Quarry Run DGC, you must have played in a minimum of four (4) events and have points in the top half of your division. Here’s three events to consider as part of the four you need for an invite:
1. Saturday, April 23, 2011 DR Disc Golf, Orrington, ME
2. Sunday, Aug 21, 2011 Skyriders DGC, Waterville, ME
3. Saturday, Sept 3, 2011 Enman Riverside DGC, Caribou, ME
Hope you all made it through the winter. We’ll see you on the course soon. Still working on the date when Sunday doubles will return but we'll let you know here and on the facebook page.
